The Daily UserScript: UserScripts.org Group "Add Script" Menu Command

Today's userscript is for userscripts.org's groups.

The Unpleasantry:

Take a look at the current process to add a script to a group at userscripts.org:

  1. Find and press the tiny "add script" link.
  2. Click on the displayed input field and provide the exact id for the script you wish to add, and press enter.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the UserScript.org Group "Add Script" Greasemonkey Menu Command you have a better option, which is:

Greasemonkey Ubiquity Command Method

I recently released a greasemonkey Ubiquity command which you can use with this userscript.

  1. Hit your Ubiquity hotkey
  2. Type "gm add script with x" where x is the id of the script you wish to add.
The script id input is pretty flexible as well, you can provide the id alone, the url of the script, and don't worry if you slip and hit an alpha character by mistake, because the id will be extracted successfully.
