The Daily UserScript: w3schools Ads Remover

This userscripts removes most of the ads from w3schools.com.

The Unpleasantry:

Seeing ads.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "w3schools Ads Remover" UserScript most, if not all, ads will be removed from w3schools.com.

The Daily UserScript: Remove Ads From Mixx

Today's userscript is another simple one to remove ads, this time from Mixx.com. Even if you are using Adblock Plus or something similar to block ads from being displayed at Mixx, the space where they would be still remains, this userscript will remove those spaces that that the pages at Mixx are easier to read.

The Unpleasantry:

Seeing Ads at Mixx.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Mixx Ads Remover" UserScript most if not all of the ads will be removed from Mixx.

The Daily UserScript: Last.fm Ads Remover

This userscript removes a large amount of known ads from Last.FM. It doesn't get them all, but it removes quite a few.

The Unpleasantry:

Seeing ads at Last.FM.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Last.fm Ads Remover" UserScript all of the areas where I have ever found ads on Last.FM are gone.

The Daily UserScript: Userscripts.org Remove 'Share' From Right Nav

This userscript will simply remove the 'Share' section of the right navigation on userscript pages of userscripts.org.

The Unpleasantry:

Having to see the bright colored, eye attracting sharing icons on userscript pages of userscripts.org when I already have tools for that installed in my browser.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Userscripts.org Remove 'Share' From Right Nav" UserScript the 'Share' section of the right navigation on userscript pages of userscripts.org will be removed from the document making the page easier to read and use.

The Daily UserScript: Remove Kampyle

This userscript will remove the kampyle link that is at the bottom right corner of so many websites.

The Unpleasantry:

Having to see the Kampyle link at the bottom right of so many pages.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Remove Kampyle" UserScript this image and link will automatically be removed if ever found.

The Daily UserScript: Userscripts.org Expand Main Content Area

This userscript will expand the #main content field at userscripts.org with some simple CSS.

The Unpleasantry:

Currently the #main content div has a width set to 750px, which squeezes the little room the text I want to read has, leaves a ton of white space, and looks disgusting overall on a widescreen monitor.

The Alleviation:

The "Userscripts.org Expand Main Content Area" UserScript simply adds a little css to the page to allow the #main content div's width to automatically adjust to the size of your screen, which should help you read the page, and generally make pages shorter.

The Daily UserScript: Userscripts.org Forum Sticky Icon

This userscript will indicate sticky forum posts on userscripts.org with an icon, replacing the default 'Sticky: ' text.

The Unpleasantry:

Currently the way that 'sticky' forum posts are indicated as such is with the text 'Sticky: ' prefixed to the forum topic's title. I have two problems with this, my brain would be able to identify sticky posts more quickly if an icon were used, and this takes more space from the forum topic's title than is really required which causes more titles to be multi-line than need to be which increases the page's length.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Userscripts.org Forum Sticky Icon" UserScript the 'Sticky: ' prefix will be replaced with an icon of a pin.

The Daily UserScript: Userscripts.org Fancy Create Guide Button

This userscript adds a nice 'Create New Guide' link to the 'Guides' list pages at userscripts.org.

The Unpleasantry:

Currently the links to create a new forum topic, group, or guide all appear differently, this is a usability no no.

The Alleviation:

I picked the best looking of the three 'create new x' links (which is the one for new forum topics) and used it for the guide list pages. All that you need to do is install the "Userscripts.org Fancy Create Guide Button" UserScript and you will see the improved link.

The Daily UserScript: Userscripts.org Improved Pagination

This userscript will improve the pagination at userscripts.org by adding a first and last page link which doesn't make you think.

The Unpleasantry:

My main beef with the current pagination at userscripts.org is that there is no 'First' page and 'Last' page links at either side of the pagination, which is the convention my brain likes. When I'm tired or trying to work very quickly I can assume that this convention is being held by the site I am on.. anyways this leads to me clicking the 'Previous' and 'Next' links when I want 'First' or 'Last' and I always hate when that happens.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Userscripts.org Improved Pagination " UserScript will add 'First' and 'Last' links as described above.

The userscript also adds a little more intelligence, such as shortening 'Previous' to 'Prev', collapsing two buttons into one when you are on the first or last page, and uses a "›" for 'Next' to make 'Next ›' and a "»" for 'Last' to make 'Last »' (same idea is applied to 'First' and 'Prev' links as well)

The Daily UserScript: Remove Top Banner Ad From IMDB

This userscript will remove the top banner ad from imdb.com which makes the entire site more readable and usable.

Even if you use a browser extension such as Adblock Plus, there is a blank space left over which is also distracting, this userscript will take care of that.

The Unpleasantry:

Being forced to see yet another crappy random advertisement on every page of imdb.com right at the top of each page.

The Alleviation:

Once you install the "Remove Top Ad From IMDB" UserScript the top banner advertisement will be removed.
